Spencer's travel ball team, which is brand new this year, were "co-champions" of BAT WARS. This was only their third tournament, so it was pretty big deal for them. The same tournament also marked an awesome turning point in his new *career* as a travel ball player. He progressed from being stuck in the outfield (and completely frustrated by it), to being a relief pitcher helping his team bring home some championship rings! We are so proud of him. I put together this little slideshow as a tribute to our super ball player.

a few weeks ago, we took spencer to a carolina football game that was on his birthday. we try to go to one each year, but this one we wanted to be special. we got 4 tickets (great seats too) so he could take a friend. i bought fun stuff like wristbands, clappers and football cups for them...in addition to the wig, tattoos, pompoms and inflatable claws that we already had. we got down there early to tailgate - picked up wings and chicken fingers along the way, even packed a football shaped cake.
i promise i won't post a ton of slideshows like this all the time. but with spencer's birthday, i've taken a lot of pictures lately.
this was an awesome day...lots of great memories.

slideshow {spencer's bday scavenger hunt}

Yup, another scavenger hunt… I thought about not doing one this year…then I decided “why not?”. Yes, he expects. Yes, he makes fun of me. Yes, he acts annoyed…but is he really? I don’t think so. And maybe, just maybe, he’ll look back one day, with a nostalgic smile, and say “Remember when you used to make me do those silly scavenger hunts every year for my birthday presents???”.

Two weeks ago, Spencer's baseball team (the Bees) had their first real game of the season. They played the Mudcats, a team with whom they had scrimmaged and lost. They pulled off a win and it was an exciting game for Spencer because he got to pitch. I took a ton of pictures and just figured out how to add a slideshow...very cool!

Spencer had his 9th birthday party at a place called Sports Connection. He and his friends played flag football, basketball, relay races and laser tag. They played really hard for two hours. Lots of fun though.

I didn't get a ton of great photos because of all the motion and its in a big warehouse with poor lighting...but you can see a few more here.
