{it's that time of year again}
Today I feel like fall...and I'm happy for that. Usually I like everything about fall except the cooling temperatures, but this year - I'm even ready for that. There have been signs of fall, but today it really hit me. Our temps this week have been highs in the upper 70s - VERY nice - and a drastic change from the 90s we had last weekend.
And this morning, I enjoyed my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season. Gotta love that!!!

{what i'm watching}
as the new shows start to roll their way back onto tv, i'm happy to have some decent stuff to watch. here are a few of my favorites right now:

it may be a bit sad, but as a huge fan of the original, i couldn't resist tuning in when this started. it's cheesy, but i'm hooked :)
BonesMatt & I have enjoyed this show since it started. LOVE it! Very glad that it was one of the shows to start back a little early. I'm excited about this week's episode that includes the dog whisperer!
Fringe
new show on fox. matt & i both love this one, which is always good. it's a little weird but any freaky sci-fi stuff is ok as long as i get to look at pacey, i mean joshua jackson.

These pictures are from back in June but I just received them from our neighbor. One weekend he was nice enough to take his son, Spencer and the little girl across the street to the playground at La Plaza Fiesta. It's supposedly a pretty awesome play area. Spencer had a blast.

{17 weeks}
Week 17 (ultrasound in 2 weeks!!!). The baby weighs 5 ounces and is around 5 inches long. The skeleton is changing into bone, joints can move, and sweat glands are developing (do you think it gets hot in there???). The most exciting thing is that the baby can hear now!
Me? Same ole, same ole. I'm still under the weather and feeling like crap. I've been taking antibiotics and Musinex, after seeing the doctor last week. Unfortunately, it's not working very quickly. Still very congested and have a horrible cough. It's hard to tell if I've felt better in the 2nd trimester, because I've been sick most of it :)

About a month ago, my mom, sister and I went to the CK Convention in Charlotte. This has become an annual tradition for us and it's always tons of fun. My big purchase this year was the Bind-It-All machine!

{college football - north v. south}
I've read this several times but just saw it again and thought I'd share it here since I've been posting about football the last couple of weeks. Enjoy - it's all very true, but good for a chuckle.
In case you weren't aware, there are just a few differences between football in the South and the North.
Women's Accessories:
NORTH:
ChapStick in back pocket and a $20 bill in the front pocket.
SOUTH:
Louis Vuitton duffel with two lipsticks, waterproof mascara, and a fifth of bourbon. Money is not necessary... that's what dates are for.
Stadium Size:
NORTH:
College football stadiums hold 20,000 people.
SOUTH:
High school football stadiums hold 20,000 people.

An hour before game time, the University opens the campus for game parking.
SOUTH:
RVs sporting their school flags begin arriving on Wednesday for the weekend festivities. The really faithful arrive on Tuesday.
Game Day:
NORTH:
A few students party in the dorm and watch ESPN on TV.
SOUTH:
Every student wakes up, has a beer for breakfast, and rushes over to where ESPN is broadcasting "Game Day Live" to get on camera and wave to the idiots up North who wonder why "Game Day Live" is never broadcast from their campus.
Tailgating:
NORTH:
Raw meat on a grill, beer with lime in it, listening to local radio station with truck tailgate down.
SOUTH:
30-foot custom pig-shaped smoker fires up at dawn. Cooking accompanied by live performance by "Dave Matthews' Band," who come over during breaks and ask for a hit off bottle of bourbon.
Getting to the Stadium:
NORTH:
You ask "Where's the stadium?" When you find it, you walk right in.
SOUTH:
When you're near it, you'll hear it. On game day it becomes the state's third largest city.
Concessions:
NORTH:
Drinks served in a paper cup, filled to the top with soda.
SOUTH:
Drinks served in a plastic cup, with the home team's mascot on it, filled less than half way with soda, to ensure enough room for bourbon.
When National Anthem is Played:
NORTH:
Stands are less than half full, and less than half of them stand up.
SOUTH:
100,000 fans, all standing, sing along in perfect four-part harmony.
The Smell in the Air After the First Score:

Nothing changes.
SOUTH:
Fireworks, with a touch of bourbon.

{16 weeks}
16 weeks - The baby is the size of an avocado, about 4 1/2 inches long. Legs are more developed, head is more erect, eyes & ears are closer to their final positions on the head.
Me - I feel like crap (to put it mildly). Whatever I had a couple of weeks ago came back, even worse. I went to the doctor and got some antibiotics, but the last two days have been miserable. It's basically a cold and sinus infection.
