reverb10 {day 11}

december eleven: eleven things
What are 11 things your life doesn’t need in 2011? How will you go about eliminating them? How will getting rid of these 11 things change your life? (Author: Sam Davidson)

1) overcommitment - i worked on getting rid of this in 2010, so it's just a matter of continuing the habit.

2) drama - when it sneaks its way into my life, i need to pray about how to best handle it and ensure that my response is not further contributing to it.

3) instant gratification - i don't need everything i want immediately.

4) impatience - this is still my biggest weakness as a person, but particuarly as a parent

5) restaurants - ok, this one isn't as "deep" as the others, but matt and i want to get back on track with our dave ramsey financial stuff next year. greatly reducing (not eliminating) the amount of restaurant food we purchase is a good start.

6) clutter - i need to purge stuff. a lot of it. particularly in our garage.

7) "this week" posts - i decided recently to not continue doing my "this week" posts here on the blog. more detail to follow.

8) television - i have no intention of eliminating tv from life, but i do feel if i reduced how much i watched, i could spend that time doing more creative things.

9) obligation - i'm trying to move past the sense of feeling obligated to do certain things, or feeling obligated to invite certain people, etc.

10) debt - by no means, do i think we could eliminate our debt in a year, but as mentioned above, we want to get back on track with *financial peace* and start working towards that goal.

11) selfishness - focus on my family, friends and faith

that was a bit more difficult than it would seem. the first few came easily and then it really took some digging. i'm not sure what made the author choose the number "11" but it was a good option for making me really look at my life and not just skimming the surfave. not all of these things need to be completely eliminated from my world. but by at least limiting and controlling them, it will rid our life of much negativity and stress.

***what is reverb10?***
Reverb 10 is an annual event and online initiative to reflect on your year and manifest what’s next. The end of the year is an opportunity to reflect on what's happened, and to send out reverberations for the year ahead. With Reverb 10, we'll do both.
sidenote: i decided to back date these posts to match the prompt dates. new posts will always show up "on top" in a reader, but if you come directly to the blog, you may need to scroll down a bit to find these daily *reverb* posts.
