reverb10 {days 21 to 24}

december twenty-one: future self
Imagine yourself five years from now. What advice would you give your current self for the year ahead? (Bonus: Write a note to yourself 10 years ago. What would you tell your younger self?) (Author: Jenny Blake)

the first thing that comes to mind is that in five years coleman will be almost seven years old. i will be planning a 'big boy' party with plenty of feedback from him. he will be in second grade! i will probably be thinking where did it go? how did the time fly by so quickly? and my resulting advise...enjoy it. breathe it. live it. love it. savor it now. while he's little. and again when he's a little less little. and then again after that. don't let it slip by. take in each and every day. every phase. every age.

december twenty-two: travel
How did you travel in 2010? How and/or where would you like to travel next year? (Author: Tara Hunt)

we travelled very little in 2010. the only trip we took as a family was our annual vacation to the beach with matt's brother's family. we've never been extensive travellers but we used to go to the mountains once or twice a year (when we had a free place to stay) and we do miss that.
in 2011, we will have our same beach trip. i also have a (very little) surprise up my sleeve for our anniversary that doesn't involve the kiddos. i'd really like to come up with at least one fun weekend road trip that would be exciting for both boys.

december twenty-three: new name
Let’s meet again, for the first time. If you could introduce yourself to strangers by another name for just one day, what would it be and why? (Author: Becca Wilcott)

oh gosh, i really have no idea on this one. when i was pregnant, before we learned the gender, i had chosen a girl name...delaney. i still love it. i'm not sure it fits me, but it's still a great name. i like my name just fine!

december twenty-four: everything's OK
What was the best moment that could serve as proof that everything is going to be alright? And how will you incorporate that discovery into the year ahead? (Author: Kate Inglis)

i'm really not good with these "moment" questions. maybe that means i need to pay more attention to the "moments". anyway... i think many of the things i've already mentioned kind of fall into this category. my daily time with God is definitely a reassurance. things improving (immensely) at work was a huge "moment". all of those things...

***what is reverb10?***
Reverb 10 is an annual event and online initiative to reflect on your year and manifest what’s next. The end of the year is an opportunity to reflect on what's happened, and to send out reverberations for the year ahead. With Reverb 10, we'll do both.
sidenote: i decided to back date these posts to match the prompt dates. new posts will always show up "on top" in a reader, but if you come directly to the blog, you may need to scroll down a bit to find these daily *reverb* posts.
