december sixteen: friendship
How has a friend changed you or your perspective on the world this year? Was this change gradual, or a sudden burst? (Author: Martha Mihalick)
i don't believe i had any "sudden bursts" of perspective on friendship. however, i have realized the importance of friends - particularly girlfriends. i've always struggled with this type of relationship. i have plenty of friends that are girls, but have never been great at having that true bonding friendship. i have no idea why. anyway, i have realized that it is important to have those relationships. to have someone to lean on and to be there when someone needs to lean.
december seventeen: lesson learned
What was the best thing you learned about yourself this past year? And how will you apply that lesson going forward? (Author: Tara Weaver)
i've learned that i'm far from perfect and i have to set expectations for myself that are feasible. otherwise, i will drive myself crazy. i've also learned that i am not motivated on a project unless i'm truly passionate about it and it's important to align my passion with what i'm actually doing with my time.
december eighteen: try
What do you want to try next year? Is there something you wanted to try in 2010? What happened when you did / didn’t go for it? (Author: Kaileen Elise)
i want to be more organized, have better time management skills, pay off debt, lose weight and spend more quality time with my family. now that i've gotten the cliched answers out of the way...
i'd like to re-design and improve this blog. this year, i purchased an online class that is supposed to teach me how to create my own backgrounds and stuff like that. i haven't had time to do anything with it and i want to make it a priority for next year. we'll see...
december nineteen: healing
What healed you this year? Was it sudden, or a drip-by-drip evolution? How would you like to be healed in 2011? (Author: Leonie Allan)
spending time daily reading the bible and focusing more on prayer. definitely a drip-by-drip thing. in 2011, i look forward to digging into the bible more (after i finish my cover-to-cover daily readings) and learning to lean on god and prayer more in my daily life.
december twenty: beyond avoidance
What should you have done this year but didn’t because you were too scared, worried, unsure, busy or otherwise deterred from doing? (Bonus: Will you do it?) (Author: Jake Nickell)
i have often pondered trying to make money with my blog. or even just expand readership for fun. i tend to feel quite goofy and silly when i'm writing and it's taken me a while to get past that. it certainly isn't necessary for me to make money using this forum, but i think i use the lack of necessity as a shield for the insecurity.
on a completely different note, i have wanted our family to find a church home for so long. for whatever reason, i find this process to be very intimidating.
***what is reverb10?***
Reverb 10 is an annual event and online initiative to reflect on your year and manifest what’s next. The end of the year is an opportunity to reflect on what's happened, and to send out reverberations for the year ahead. With Reverb 10, we'll do both.sidenote: i decided to back date these posts to match the prompt dates. new posts will always show up "on top" in a reader, but if you come directly to the blog, you may need to scroll down a bit to find these daily *reverb* posts.
